Zara White has been through the ringer, yet she still see's the good in everyone. She loses Nick, brings him back, loses her father, her grandma Betty runs off. When feeling lost and alone, she pulls up her big girl panties and faces evil with strength and courage. She is one protagonist that packs a punch. 

I have adored the Need series from the get-go. The unique world that Carrie Jones has weaved, has been nothing short of entertaining and magical. If you have read the first three books in this series, you will find Endure captivating. The perfect ending to a beautiful story. I couldn't have asked for a better ending. I was left smiling and feeling a sense of happiness upon finishing this book.

Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard

This book was quite simply everything I hoped it would be, then more. If you're after kick-ass action, a phenomenal heroine and a world that comes to life, then this book is for you!

SOMETHING STRANGE AND DEADLY picked me up and whirled me away in the best possible way--the action kept coming and coming! It would ease off just enough for me to catch my breath, and then we were away again! And oh, the finale....? I can't even say!

With just a few deft strokes, Susan Dennard immediately lets us know who we're dealing with--and then proceeds to peel away the layers so we learn more about them at every turn, plunging deeper and deeper. Even the minor characters spring to life--one of my favourites was Mrs. Fitt, Eleanor's mother, who could have been a stereotype and instead is so vivid and genuine--I could always see (and to some extent sympathise with) her motivations, even when I was right there with Eleanor in wanting to strangle her. There are some fabulous originals in there (I think Jie might be my favourite, though you'll have to read to learn more), and Daniel, well. Excuse me while I fan myself a little! I am in love!

Eleanor herself is a strong, memorable and totally three-dimensional heroine. Her evolution is seamless, and so gradual, but somehow over the course of the book she grows from the girl we first meet, busy trying to fit into everybody else's idea of what she should be, into... well, I can't spoil you, but into a girl capable of pulling off THAT finale!

All thats left to say is-Bring on the sequel!

Okay... So fingers crossed that an ARC of this one come my way! I can't wait to see what debut author Chanelle Gray is all about!

Grave Mercy by R.L LaFevers

I LOVED this book! When I first started reading it, I began to worry a bit about the dialect and the time settings. I've never been a big fan of historical type novels.But despite the time period, Grave Mercy is full of strong women and an enticing romance that will appeal to readers. This book in a new trilogy stands well on its own! Robin L. did such an awesome job with Ismae, Duval, and Anne... And that's just to name a few of the characters that will stand out at you in this book! Every character, no matter how big their role is, has a distinctive personality and they all truly add to the charisma of Ismaes journeys.

Blessed by the God of Death himself, Ismae has sworn to serve him and her country as an assassin. Sent on a mission to protect a duchess during the hundred years war, Ismae must pretend to be the mistress of Duval, a man she does not trust. But as secrets are revealed and lives are taken, she not only uncovers a deeper conspiracy, but discovers that she is falling in love. 

Robin LaFevers has weaved a thrilling and romantic tale that will appeal to fans of all ages!

This is a definite must read!

Emma and her friend Chloe are spending vacation in Florida. When Emma (literally) runs into a hot guy named Galen on the beach, little does she know he’s a prince of the Syrena. Galen and Emma both feel something strange – is it attraction? – and Galen suspects that Emma might well be the girl he’s heard of – a human who can communicate with fish. 

What follows is a deadly scene with a shark in which Galen witnesses Emma’s gifts. He must know more about her, and follows her back to New Jersey, and high school, to find out for sure if she’s the key to saving his kingdom. Soon, Emma can’t deny her feelings for him, but can’t explain them, either – and both she and Galen must learn more about where she comes from and what her powers are before they can trust one another and their feelings.

I loved the relationship between Emma and Galen! There was some definite tension between the two... The only thing that I really didn't care for was that there was alot leading up to the main plot of the story and how/what/where/when/why Galen has such an interest in Emma. But when its all revelaed, it goes way to fast! You go through most of the book anticipating the drama and then its a big let down when the story finally gets there. I did however LOVE the characters! Especially Rayna! And I can't wait for the next book to see where Anna leads these guys next!

A most touching follow up in the Unearthly series, proving Cynthia has went far over the top in her creativity and writing! Hallowed will melt your hearts, and leave you yearning for more. This is such a great series!

As Clara is trying to regain normalcy her life from everything that became of her 'purpose' and the fires, not to mention the run in with Samjeeza, things are quite well. Things are going great with Tucker, and staying friends with Christian are going well to. It's when she realizes that her purpose must not be finished that she starts to get worried.

It starts with more visions. What scares her the most out of it all, is that Tucker isn't there. She messed up everything the last time to save him, and this time, he isn't in them. The feeling of the vision is sadness. Christian is there, comforting her. She is more than scared of the outcome of these visions, and rightly so, doesn't want to share what she suspects with Tucker.

It's when Samjeeza makes his grand appearance that things get even rockier. He starts to watch her outside of school. Christian can sense her fears and insecurities,and he is there for her. It's quite sweet really. The way he just waits just in case she needs him. Having him do this though, opens her eyes to the truth of the future and how things will always be. She has to make huge decisions, As well as find out that her vision was far wrong, it was about someone else entirely. Someone even closer to her, and she even has another new visitor along the way. Someone she would never expect.

Illuminate by Aimee Agresti

There are lots of books out there now that tell you immediately who and what the main character is and so it was truly refreshing to find a book that made the reader and the character discover the answers for themselves. Illuminate was one of those page turners that dazzled you with its setting, drew you in with its cast of varied characters and held you captive with its twisting story. I’m usually one who can guess just what is going on and what to expect next but Illuminate kept me on my toes, providing me with just enough information to leave me hanging for the next chapter, scene, or, more often than not, line. It was readily addicting, so much so that it took me awhile to realize I was indulging in the bad habit of actually talking to the book as if it was a person. From page one Haven had me reading between the lines for any clues and loving every twist of Illuminate’s captivating plot thanks to her determination and the naturalness of her personality. 
In other words, this was an amazing start to what I believe will be a wonderful series!
